Description
Treken 100® (Trazodone 100 mg) – Dual-Action Relief for Depression and Insomnia
Treken 100® is a versatile antidepressant formulation containing Trazodone Hydrochloride 100 mg, widely prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), insomnia, and anxiety-related symptoms. Treken 100 is a serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) that works by balancing serotonin levels in the brain, helping to alleviate mood disorders and promote restful sleep without the strong sedative or dependency profile of traditional sleeping pills.
Therapeutic Class:
SARI – Serotonin Antagonist and Reuptake Inhibitor
(Antidepressant / Sedative-hypnotic)
Indications:
-
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
-
Insomnia associated with depression or anxiety
-
Anxiety disorders
-
Adjustment disorders with depressed mood
-
Sleep disturbances caused by stress or emotional distress
-
Off-label: Chronic pain, fibromyalgia (as adjunct therapy)
Mechanism of Action:
Trazodone in Treken 100 selectively inhibits serotonin reuptake and blocks certain serotonin receptors (5-HT2A), resulting in increased serotonin activity in the central nervous system. This dual action improves mood, reduces anxiety, and induces mild sedation, which is especially helpful in patients with coexisting depression and insomnia. Unlike benzodiazepines, Trazodone has a lower potential for dependence and addiction.
